Summary:
Works as part of a Team which is responsible for facilitating the timely claim generation and submission for professional inpatient and outpatient services for long term care operations, as directed by the Business Office Manager, Controller or Administrator.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions ? Accurately and efficiently accesses billing system to secure and assemble all necessary patient records for timely professional claim generation.
? Accurately inputs data into billing system with reconciliation to batched totals.
? Reviews daily productivity logs, claim and edit tracking reports, and clearing rejection reports.
? Timely resolves registration and Insurance edits to minimize claim denials.
? Tracks and resolves daily electronic claim edits, and reports fluctuation and trends to Supervisor.
? Follows up with appropriate staff or Payer to locate missing information ? Provides resolution for claim rejections/denials and understands insurance reimbursement policies and requirements.
? Responsible for charge corrections to include reposting of payments to proper invoice.
? Coordinates primary EOBs for submission to non-electronic secondary insurance.
? Monitors changes in Payer addresses/Payer IDs and request system updates as necessary.
? Identifies trends in Payer rejections to determine need for system modifications, TES edits or operational flow changes.
? Assists with monitoring workload and distribution of assignments.
? Serves as backup to Billing Specialist I.
? Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
? Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions ? Works with all day-to-day functions and processes within the Billing Department.
? Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc.
, to keep abreast of current changes in the long-term care field regarding insurance, billing, coding, and collections
Qualifications:
Education/Training High school graduate or its equivalent Licensure/Certification None Experience ? Proficient in basic computer functions.
? Two (2) years of experience in electronic medical billing.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
