Summary:
Knox Horticulture is seeking a technician to assist with general maintenance responsibilities at our large landscape bedding plants greenhouse.
The successful candidate will be required to perform routine maintenance and work on assets throughout the facility and grounds including mechanical, plumbing, and light electrical work.
Ability to work with a diverse team to prevent equipment downtime is a must.
Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Essential job duties include:
Perform highly diversified and machinist duties to install and maintain production machines and the greenhouse facility equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, welding, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and greenhouse facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Adhere to company safety policies, procedures and practices.
Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of one or more of the following trades:
Electrical, Mechanical, Welding.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Ability to read and interpret directions, work orders, and job documents.
Must be able to follow-through and complete responsibilities.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and to stand/stoop/bend as needed.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to perform work in an open work area which can be filled with background noise or distraction.
Ability to perform work outdoors in landscape bedding area and indoors in greenhouse and warehouse conditions.
Other Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation.
