POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Simulation Program Administrator, the Simulation Operations Specialist is an intermediate level technical position contributing to the daily work of the medical simulation program.
They will be responsible for data collection, reports, data analysis, and will lead the simulation operations team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
scheduling, course preparation, supervision of maintenance and repair of computerized manikins (software and hardware) data gathering and database management.
The Simulation Operations Specialist will be responsible for maintaining work systems, data analysis and reports creation, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage optimum performance and utilization of operational resources of the center.
This person participates as a productive team member and routinely anticipates known problem areas and has prevention strategies laid out in advance.
The Simulation Operations Specialist performs complex diagnostic and configuration on assigned software and hardware, understands overall program and curricular objectives and the purpose of simulation deliverables.
This person may also provide an appropriate user level of training on simulators, computer hardware and software, audiovisual equipment and related equipment.
The role interfaces with multiple end users requiring strong communication, leadership and multi-tasking skills, the ability to thrive and produce in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:
General Duties:
Ensure the set up and return of lab to pre-event condition and salvages reusable suppliesProgram and operate simulator software for physiological response per faculty specifications and during simulation sessionsAttend vendor specific training to gain a thorough knowledge of the technology-enabled workflows and the application features and functionsTrain staff, faculty and students on the use and operation of simulation equipmentWork collaboratively with end users to support simulation teaching and learningInterface with Director of IT, Director of Facilities Maintain and oversee simulation master calendar including electronic tour request formManage and keep simulation resource, catalog and operation manual up to date Oversee and maintain technology warranties and ensures up to date in collaboration with Sim Ops Tech Manage shipping and receiving of simulation resources Create How to, technical and checklist documents for end usersOversee moulage needs for simulation based eventsClean up and track the ordering of additional supplies and restocking after activities Ensure simulation website is up to date and contributes to the expansion/growth of the websiteGenerate innovative approaches for technology improvement and integration into medical educationLeads ad hoc work groups to carry out complex and/or detailed task instructionsTrack, log, and report equipment and resources needed for repurchasing and repairsEnsure learner events are recorded and edited as neededFabricate/construct/innovate new models and use creativity in consideration of fiduciary responsibility Data Collection Duties:
Maintain and track maximum lab utilization records Manage and track loaned equipment Maintain an electronic and up to date inventory management systemLog and document learner contact hours Operationalize the curriculum design into a program delivery plan by considering the room layout, equipment availability and functionality, use of consumables, scenario programming, documentation, moulage and staff preparationsWork with faculty on case development, testing/dry runs and running scenariosParticipate in curriculum design meetings to facilitate technical planning and delivery for simulation activities Facilitate human simulation activities in collaboration with Simulation Program Administrator Assists in the operations of OSCEs'/summative exams in collaboration with Simulation Program AdministratorRequirementsSKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
At least 3 years of experience in simulation in healthcareBroad and advanced knowledge of information technology skills (Microsoft word, Power Point, Excel), computer technology operations and troubleshooting, technology hardware and software, audio-visual equipment, and social networking systems related to healthcare simulationHealthcare background preferredTechnical writing skills for preparation of reportsAbility to analyze data and represent it graphicallyExperience with human patient simulator and A/V or telemedicine preferredAbility to balance multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environmentExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsCHSOS preferredAdvanced degree preferredKEY COMPETENCIES:
